Jennifer Winslade

Executive Director of Nursing and Deputy Chief Executive at Aneurin Bevan University Health Board and Co-Chair of the NMC’s Professional Strategic Advisory Group (PSAG).

Jennifer qualified as a nurse in 1991 and worked in acute and intensive care services in the UK and USA. She later trained as a District Nurse and Health Visitor, completing a BSc in Community Nursing at King’s College London, and has an MA in Professional Practice.

Jennifer has held Executive Director of Nursing roles for more than 17 years across community services, commissioning, urgent and emergency care, and integrated acute, primary, community, mental health and learning disability services. She has also worked at a national level for the Department of Health in England, focusing on nursing and public health.  

Jennifer has significant Board-level experience in clinical leadership, clinical governance, service change, patient safety and quality. She champions the nursing and patient voice and is passionate about equality and diversity, staff welfare, population health, patient-centred care and an inclusive working culture.
