Colonel Maggie Hodge RRC
Chief Nursing Officer for Defence
Maggie is a registered nurse and senior Defence leader, with a clinical background in critical care nursing and extensive experience in healthcare leadership across operational and strategic settings.
Maggie provides strategic nursing leadership, direction and professional advice on behalf of the Surgeon General. She is responsible for ensuring the nursing contribution to Defence medical and healthcare capability meets current and future healthcare commitments in the UK and on operations.
Maggie has worked closely with the Nursing and Midwifery Council through her responsibility for managing fitness to practise matters for Army nurses. She was awarded the Royal Red Cross in 2022 in recognition of her contribution to military nursing on deployed operations and through strategic leadership in the UK.
