Council meetings

Agendas and when our meetings take place

The Council is the governing body of the NMC. It sets our strategic direction and the budget, monitors performance and holds the Executive to account for delivery.

The Council sets the standards which nurses, midwives and nursing associates must meet to be registered, including for education and training, the Code and revalidation.

Council meetings can cover issues ranging from our regulatory role to scrutiny of our performance and finances and may include matters that only the Council can decide, as well as issues for discussion or information.

We are now back to live, face-to-face meetings in the Council Chamber at 23 Portland Place, London. Meetings are open to the public and anyone is welcome to attend.
