Felicia Kwaku OBE

Associate Director of Nursing at King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and Chair of the Mary Seacole Trust

Felicia has over 34 years’ nursing experience, specialising in general intensive care and cardiac nursing. She trained at University College London Hospitals and has worked in roles including research nurse, practice educator, lecturer practitioner and Director of Nursing. She has been an Associate Director of Nursing at King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust since 2017.  

Felicia is the immediate past Chair of the Chief Nursing Officer and Chief Midwifery Officer’s Black and Minority Ethnic Strategic Advisory Group. During the Covid-19 pandemic, she led the group in highlighting the disproportionate impact on nursing and midwifery staff from Black and minority ethnic backgrounds, engaging thousands of staff and making national recommendations to NHS England.  

Felicia serves on several national committees and forums, helping to ensure the voices of Black and minority ethnic nurses and midwives inform policy and guidance. She was awarded an OBE for services to nursing during the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020 and received the Chief Nursing Officer Gold Award in 2024. She is also Chair of the Mary Seacole Trust.
