Take time to prepare

There are a number of factors to take into account, including preparing the evidence you need to show you meet our registration requirements and how much preparation time you feel you need before your take your CBT and OSCE.

Our pre-application checklist will help show you what documents you’ll need to have ready before you start your application.

Assessing your application

We'll aim to assess your qualification within 14 days - once you've submitted your eligibility and qualification application and we have received a response from your regulator (and training institution, where required).

Once we’ve confirmed your eligibility to apply for registration, you’ll have two years to complete your registration. This includes taking your CBT and OSCE if we ask you to take a Test of Competence.

We’ll aim to consider your complete registration application within 30 days - once we've received your supporting health, character and language evidence, where applicable your CBT and OSCE results, and your registration fee.

Contact your referees before you begin

When you’re ready to submit your application, make sure that you let your referees know we’ll be contacting them to provide your supporting declarations so they respond to us as soon as possible.

Changing your personal details

If you need to change your contact details during the application process, you can do so by logging into your NMC Online account. If you change your name during this time, you’ll be able to update this during the Final Declaration stage of the application process which is the last one before registration is granted.
