Verification

Last Updated 26/05/2021

Each year we select a sample of nurses, midwives and nursing associates to give more information about their application. This process is known as verification.

We'll let you know within 24 hours of submitting your revalidation application and paying your fee if you have been selected for verification.

This does not necessarily mean that we have any concerns about your application and you can continue to practise while we review your information.

What will I be asked to do?

We'll ask you to provide us with further information through NMC Online about your revalidation application. You have 21 days to do this once we tell you that you have been selected for verification.

We may ask for further evidence in some cases, so it's important that you keep all of your revalidation evidence safe.

Our verification guidance sheet explains the verification process and what you need to do if you're selected for verification.

We have lots of resources to help you get the best from revalidation.
