NMC announces opening of new hearings centre

25 July 2014

The Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) has today announced that a new hearings centre based in Stratford London will open in November 2014.

The new hearings centre will replace the NMC’s 20 Old Bailey hearings centre at the expiry of its lease in November 2014. The move will enable the NMC to consolidate its London hearing venues from three to two sites, which will improve operational efficiency.

Jackie Smith, Chief Executive and Registrar of the NMC, said:

“We are delighted to have secured this lease which provides the NMC with longer term hearing space. The consolidation of our hearings sites will also enable us to improve operational efficiency.”
