Elinor Smith has stepped down as Council Member

Elinor Smith has resigned from her position as NMC Council Member. 

Elinor Smith served as a registrant member of the NMC Council from May 2013. During this time, Elinor held posts as Executive Nurse Director of NHS Grampian Board and as Honorary Lecturer at Aberdeen University. 

NMC Chair Mark Addison said: 

“We are grateful to Elinor for her contribution during her period of service on the Council. We wish her all the best in her future endeavours.” 

The Council is responsible for setting the strategic direction of the NMC and overseeing the work of NMC senior staff. It is made up of six lay and six registrant members, including a representative from each of the four UK countries. 

We are recruiting for two registrants to join the Council, at least one of whom will need to live or work in Scotland.
