Sophie Dodd
Hello, my name is Sophie Dodd and I am currently a 2nd year student midwife at Swansea University.
As a dedicated student midwife, I am passionate about the art and science of midwifery and the vital role it plays in supporting women, birthing people, and families through some of the most transformative moments of their lives.
My philosophy of midwifery is rooted in compassion, respect, and advocacy — ensuring that care is not only clinically safe but also deeply personal and empowering.
I believe that student voices are essential in shaping the future of our profession. I am committed to making sure those voices are heard, respected, and meaningfully embedded into the decisions that guide midwifery education and practice.
Grounded, empathetic, and driven by a desire to contribute to positive change, I am honoured to take a seat on the NMC’s Midwifery Student Advisory Group (MSAG), where I will work to represent and elevate the perspectives of student midwives across the UK.
