Jamie Morris
Jamie Morris RM, BSc (Hons), MSc, PGCE is a registered midwife with experience spanning clinical care, research and national strategic leadership.
She is currently seconded to Welsh Government as the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Lead Midwife, where she leads work to embed inclusive, person-centred approaches across maternity and neonatal policy and services.
Her background includes experience as a research midwife, supporting the delivery of high-quality studies to improve outcomes and promote evidence-based practice in maternity care. This work has deepened her commitment to ensuring that research and services reflect and serve the needs of all communities.
In her current role, Jamie has led the development of the Perinatal Engagement Framework for Wales, ensuring diverse voices are central to service design and improvement. She has also contributed to the Maternity and Neonatal Quality Statement and supported the NMC in developing principles for best practice in midwifery.
Jamie works closely with professionals across all levels, from clinical teams to national policymakers to address inequalities, drive anti-racist practice and create inclusive, psychologically safe environments for staff, birthing women, birthing people, babies and families. Jamies work is grounded in the belief that equity is fundamental to safe, high-quality maternity care.
