Hearings and Outcomes: these pages list direct and current insight into unacceptable standards of nursing or midwifery in the UK.

Professional organisations

These organisations all provide useful resources to help you to prepare for the test of competence and understand UK nursing and midwifery practice.

Unions such as the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) produce information and publications on nursing in the UK.

Some of the RCN's learning and education resources such as journals are only available if you are a member. Other unions such as UNITE and UNISON offer resources, but you often need to be a member in order to access them.

Midwives in the UK have their own professional organisation, the Royal College of Midwives (RCM). The RCM provides learning materials, some of which is available to non-members.
