Special congratulations to Nicola Bailey, winner of NMC sponsored innovation in your practice award, alongside her award for nurse of the year
We are pleased to congratulate all the winners of this year’s RCN Nursing Awards, announced yesterday (12 October).
Run by the Royal College of Nursing, the awards recognise excellence in nursing and healthcare, and acknowledge the outstanding efforts, commitment and achievements made by the whole of the nursing community.
We’re especially pleased to congratulate Nicola Bailey on her award in the 'innovation in your specialty' category, sponsored by the NMC. The award recognises innovative work delivered during the coronavirus pandemic.
Nicola received the award for her innovation in setting up an early medical abortion service in Belfast while also converting community contraceptive clinics to telemedicine services, working closely with a range of partners to do so.
Andrea Sutcliffe, Chief Executive and Registrar at the NMC, said:
“Congratulations to all of the winners of this year’s RCN awards.
“Particular congratulations to Nicola Bailey for winning this years’ NMC sponsored ‘innovation in your specialty’ award alongside her award for nurse of the year.
“At the heart of Nicola’s award was her desire to meet women’s needs, doing this with skill, kindness, respect and compassion. These are not only some of the defining principles of the NMC’s Code but also the principles that underpin what it means to be an excellent nurse."
