Issues that we look into
Based on your concern or complaint we might look at whether a nurse, midwife or nursing associate:
- harmed, abused or neglected a patient
- made serious or repeated mistakes that put someone at risk
- was dishonest or discriminatory
- has committed a crime.

What we can't look into
We regulate individual nursing professionals and cannot investigate:
- Problems with a hospital, GP practice or care home as a whole
- Small one-off mistakes
- Other staff non-nursing such as Doctors or Physios
