Committees of Council
The four committees of Council
The Council takes strategic decisions on issues affecting the NMC, nurses, midwives, nursing associates and public protection. Committees explore these issues in greater depth and report back to Council on discussions. This provides a further level of assurance to Council when making strategic decisions.

- Finance and Resource Committee
Meetings of committees are not open to the public.
Until 31 March 2017, there was another committee of the Council; the Midwifery Committee. Historical information about the Midwifery Committee can be found here:
