Matthew McClelland
Executive Director of Strategy and Insight
Matthew leads the teams responsible for high quality insight, thinking and analysis that enable us to regulate well and influence our future work.
Matthew joined the NMC in 2013 as Assistant Director, Governance & Planning. He subsequently spent five years leading our Fitness to Practise teams as Deputy Director and then Director, where he led the design and implementation of our strategic approach to fitness to practise.
Before joining the NMC, Matthew spent 10 years in the higher education sector, including spells as a head of professional development for a higher education professional association and as a university secretary, overseeing governance, compliance, and legal affairs.
