Richard Cartland
Interim Executive Director for Transformation and Technology Services
Richard Cartland is the Interim Executive Director for Transformation and Technology Services, with responsibility for leading the NMC’s operational transformation and technology modernisation agenda. He has previously supported improvements to the NMC’s Fitness to Practise work and brings a long track record of running complex operations and delivering large-scale change.
Richard has spent much of his career leading major programmes across the technology and media sectors, working with organisations including Sky, Virgin Media, BT and the BBC.
He is known for his practical, delivery-focused approach, combining strategic leadership with a strong understanding of how services operate day to day. Richard places particular emphasis on building capable teams and making sure change translates into real, measurable improvement for the organisation and the people it serves.
