OSCE resits

If you are returning to the Test Centre for a resit, and the ID Officer was unable to conduct your ID check on your first attempt, you will have received a follow-up sheet to advise you of the reason why.

Important: You must arrange an appointment for your ID check to take place on the day of your resit. Failure to do so may result in the ID Officer being unavailable or unable to conduct your ID check, due to limited capacity on the day.

Important information for your ID check
  • Ensure that you have submitted your NMC application and paid the registration fee for your ID check to be conducted (application guides for Nursing/Midwifery and Nursing Associate)
  • You will need to provide all required documents as original (see below) for your ID check to be conducted

We are unable to conduct your ID check if any of your documents are not original/missing or your application remains unsubmitted on the day, and a further in-person appointment will be required at your own expense.

If we are unable to conduct your ID check on the day of your exam, we will provide you with a follow-up sheet with the reason why and further instructions; your OSCE result will still be processed by your test centre within five working days and be viewable on your NMC portal. However, you should note that your application will only proceed to the last registration stage once your ID Check has been completed.

Booking your appointment

An in-person appointment is required for all additional ID checks.

Appointments are available Monday - Friday, and your ID check must be conducted at the test centre in which you sat your OSCE. Please contact ID.Checks@nmc-uk.org to book an appointment for your ID check. You will be offered the next available appointment at the same test centre.

If you are revisiting the test centre for a resit, please advise of the date and time of your exam and we will try to arrange an ID check appointment for the same date.
