Nursing associates’ fees consultation

We consulted on the proposed fees for the new nursing associate profession in England. The consultation ran from 4 December 2017 to 26 February 2018.

What we asked

In developing the legislation for the regulation of nursing associates in England, the Government has followed the current framework for nurses and midwives. This means nursing associates will have to apply to join our register and pay fees.

We sought views on possible approaches to setting these fees.

Our consultation document (Cymraeg) explained our proposals.

What we did

We decided that nursing associates will need to pay the same registration fees as nurses and midwives.

This is because nursing associates will be subject to the same regulation processes (such as registration and fitness to practise) as nurses and midwives.
