We’ve launched a survey to give professionals, students, employers, and members of the public the opportunity to share their views on the future of the Code and revalidation.
We are currently reviewing both the Code and the revalidation process to make sure they reflect the realities of modern health and social care, and respond to new and emerging challenges in practice.
This survey will help us understand people’s early views and shape the wider research and engagement activity we’ll carry out in the months ahead.
We want to hear your perspectives on:
- How the Code could be improved, whether through new or strengthened standards, additional guidance, or better supporting information.
- How revalidation could work better-for example, by ensuring it helps professionals deliver safe, effective care, remains robust, and is accessible for everyone on the register, regardless of role or background.
A formal consultation is expected to launch in September 2026, subject to Council approval. We aim to publish the new Code and revalidation process in October 2027 subject to approval by our governing Council.
We will use this feedback to help plan our next steps and any further engagement that we need to do.
The survey will typically take around 10 minutes to complete.
