Response to appointment of the Professional Standards Authority's new Chair

Congratulations to Caroline Corby on her appointment

Responding to the news that Caroline Corby has been appointed as the Professional Standards Authority's new Chair, Professor Karen Cox, Deputy Chair at the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), said:

"On behalf of everyone at the NMC I want to congratulate Caroline on her appointment as Chair of the Professional Standards Authority. I also want to put on record my thanks for her excellent work as a Chair of the NMC's Investigating Committee.

"The Covid-19 pandemic has highlighted more than ever the incredible impact that nursing and midwifery professionals, and their colleagues across health and social care, have on the people they care for. We are delighted to continue to work with Caroline and to develop our positive relationship with the PSA to achieve the ambitions set out in our strategy, delivering effective regulation and supporting professionals to provide the highest standards of care for people."

"I would like offer my warmest congratulations to Caroline on her appointment.

"For almost a decade Caroline has provided conscientious and supportive leadership as a Chair of the NMC's Investigating Committee. I'd like to thank Caroline for her committed service in this key role. We will miss her.
