Commenting on the appointment of Ed Hughes to the role of Chief Executive of the Council of Deans of Health, Andrea Sutcliffe CBE, Chief Executive and Registrar for the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), said:
“On behalf of the NMC, I'd like to congratulate Ed on his appointment to this significant role, which provides important leadership for health and care educators and helps shape education experiences for future generations of nursing and midwifery professionals.
“We have a positive collaborative relationship with the Council of Deans of Health and value the organisation’s expert voice in our work such as the recent modernisation of our education programme standards.
“We look forward to working with Ed and continuing our close partnership with the Council of Deans and their members, for the benefit of educators, their students, and ultimately people who receive care from the nurses, midwives and nursing associates of the future."
