Congratulations to everyone shortlisted
We are pleased to congratulate all the shortlisted candidates for this year’s RCN Nursing Awards, announced today (23 June).
Run by the Royal College of Nursing, the awards recognise excellence in nursing and healthcare, and acknowledge the outstanding efforts, commitment and achievements made by the whole of the nursing community.
We are particularly delighted to congratulate the six candidates shortlisted for the 'Innovation in Your Specialty' category, which we have sponsored.
It recognises innovative work by individual nursing professionals or teams delivered during the coronavirus pandemic across Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and England.
The finalists for the 'Innovations in Your Specialty' award are:
- Iain Armstrong, Sheffield Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust
- Nicola Bailey, Belfast Health and Social Care Trust
- Pauline Curran, Southern Health and Social Care Trust
- Clare Manly and Craig Davidson, Retaining the Passion: Journeys Through Nursing podcast
- Pam Ramsay, University of Dundee
All category winners and the prestigious RCN Nurse of the Year will be announced at the RCN Nursing Awards ceremony on 12 October 2021.
Andrea Sutcliffe CBE, Chief Executive and Registrar for the NMC, said:
"Congratulations to everyone shortlisted for this year's RCN Nursing Awards.
"They are a celebration of your amazing work through an extraordinarily challenging year for nursing and midwifery professionals.
"I'm particularly proud of those shortlisted for the innovation award, demonstrating how they have implemented new projects or processes that have made a real difference to delivering safe, kind and effective care.
"It's a real privilege to sponsor an RCN Nursing Award, and I look forward to congratulating all the winners when they are announced in the autumn."
