Latest newsletters for midwives, nurses and nursing associates
Published on 26 March 2021
We've published our latest quarterly newsletters for midwives, nurses and nursing associates
Both newsletters feature lead articles to mark one year since the UK went into its first national lockdown to control the spread of Covid-19.
Our midwifery newsletter shares stories from midwife Linda Machakaire and student midwife Alicia Burnett, who spoke to us about their personal experiences over the past year.
Our nursing newsletter also shares stories from care home nurse Kirsty Cartin and nursing associate Drew Scott. They told us about the challenges they've faced during the pandemic and what they've learned.
What else can I expect if I read the midwifery newsletter?
Readers will find all the latest NMC news, including updates to our 'Practising as a midwife in the UK' publication, Andrea Sutcliffe's interview in The Independent about the importance of blame-free culture, and information about our recruitment for fitness to practise panel members. Our Senior Midwifery Advisers, Dr Jacqui Williams and Verena Wallace MBE, also speak about how they're influencing midwifery matters across the NMC.
What else can I expect if I read the nursing newsletter?
Watch Andrea Sutcliffe's webinar with the CNOs for Scotland and Wales respectively, as they speak about their careers and give their advice for health and care professionals. There are also links to the British Journal of Nursing's virtual awards and our Covid-19 web hub, as we continue to support nurses to administer the vaccine. Readers will also find information about the launch of the public consultation for our draft post-registration standards.
