NMC congratulates nursing and midwifery professionals recognised in the New Year Honours
Andrea Sutcliffe CBE, Chief Executive and Registrar, said:
“My warmest congratulations to everyone recognised in the New Year Honours list.
“I’m incredibly proud of the 745,000 nursing and midwifery professionals on the NMC register who have been absolutely tremendous in their vital work across health and social care, despite the continued pressures of the pandemic. It is wonderful that their work is valued and honoured.
“I’m delighted to see Professor Mark Radford, Chief Nurse at Health Education England and Deputy Chief Nursing Officer at NHS England and NHS Improvement, awarded a CBE for services to nursing. Mark has shown inspirational leadership during Health Education England’s response to Covid-19. Throughout his career, Mark has given invaluable support to nursing and midwifery professionals and students and this is such a well-deserved recognition.
“On behalf of us all at the NMC, I would like to congratulate everyone who has been honoured. I hope you can take some time to celebrate and enjoy your well-earned accolade.”
Sir David Warren KCMG, Chair of the NMC, said:
“We are so pleased to see Professor Mark Radford honoured for services to nursing. Mark’s hard work to support our skilled registrants and students is admirable.
“We are also delighted that the outstanding work of so many nursing and midwifery professionals has been recognised in the New Year Honours.
“On behalf of the Council, I would like to send our warmest congratulations and express our gratitude for your continued commitment.”
