Professional Strategic Advisory Group meets for the first time

The inaugural meeting of the Nursing and Midwifery Council’s (NMC’s) Professional Strategic Advisory Group took place on 15 July.
The group was set up to provide the NMC with an opportunity to engage with senior nurses and midwives, to share insights and information about strategic developments and advise the NMC’s executive team.
The group, which will meet every three months, includes senior nurses and midwives from across the four countries of the UK and from a range of fields, including academia, management, policy, healthcare and social care.
Jackie Smith, NMC Chief Executive and Registrar, said:
“The Professional Strategic Advisory Group will provide us with a valuable opportunity to have an open and constructive dialogue with senior nurses and midwives on a regular basis.
“I look forward to learning from the members’ insights and experience. Their scrutiny and advice will help to shape and inform our regulatory and strategic developments.”
