Nurses and midwives asked: are you revalidation ready?
Published on 04 August 2015
We are urging all to sign up to NMC Online and start preparing for revalidation
This week we are contacting all nurses and midwives on our register with information about revalidation.
Revalidation will be the new renewal process which every nurse and midwife will have to undertake every three years. In October our Council is making the final decision how to proceed.
Over the next few days an ‘Are you revalidation ready?’ postcard is being sent to all nurses and midwives who have not yet signed up to NMC Online, with an email version going to those who have already got an online account.
The postcard lists the top three things nurses and midwives need to do before revalidation comes into effect, which are:
- Setting up an NMC Online account
- Finding out renewal date
- Getting familiar with the provisional revalidation guidance
The revalidation process will be entirely online, so it’s essential that every nurse and midwife gets an NMC Online account and finds out their renewal date.
