NMC seeking new Council member

We are seeking to appoint a new Council lay member

The appointee will join the Chair and ten other governing Council members in oversight of the NMC.

Applications for this role are open to applicants who are not, and have never been, registered as a nurse or midwife.

To find out more and to apply, visit the Council vacancy page.

The closing date for applications is 12:00 27 May 2016.

The Chair of the NMC, Professor Dame Janet Finch, said about the role:

"This is an exciting time to join the NMC. In the last year alone, the Council has introduced important improvements to enhance public protection, including a new professional Code and a system of revalidation which fundamentally changes how we regulate nurses and midwives.

"As a member of the Council you will contribute to this important public protection agenda whilst overseeing a major programme of organisational transformation.

"Our key ambition is to become a leading and dynamic regulator. As a member of our Council you will play a crucial role in making that ambition a reality."
