Network of European nursing competent authorities

Meeting took place in September
We’ve recently re-established a European network of nursing competent authorities in collaboration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland and the Consejo General de Enfermeria (Spanish Nursing Council).
The main focus of the network will be to ensure that public protection is promoted and maintained across Europe. The group encourages closer collaboration, knowledge sharing and operational links between European nursing competent authorities.
At its meeting in London in September, network members discussed the EU Directive on the Recognition of Professional Qualifications, in particular the European Professional Card and the alert mechanism for fitness to practise sanctions.
