If a new allegation is made against a nurse or midwife that is of a similar kind, or founded on the same facts as those already being considered by the Fitness to Practise Committee, it can be considered at the same hearing if the original allegation has not yet been heard.1  In such instances, we will tell the nurse or midwife about the new allegation, our intention to put it before a panel and give them the opportunity to respond within 28 days, or a different timeframe agreed between us and the nurse or midwife.2
