At a meeting, the panel will consider the matter on the papers. This will be the documentary evidence such as witness statements and exhibits that we have obtained, along with any written responses by the nurse or midwife.

As a meeting is private, the nurse or midwife, their representative and the witnesses do not attend. There is also no case presenter. This means that the witnesses cannot be questioned, and parties cannot make verbal submissions to the panel.
