If we've decided that the complaint should move onto the investigation stage, it will then go to our investigation team who will open a case.

The investigation team will then put together evidence like documents, witness statements and speaking to employers.

We'll always ask you to send us a response to the complaint raised about your practice. You don't have to respond to this request, but it helps us to understand the context around the complaint.

It's important that we understand and always take any contextual information into account when we investigate.

If we can't get information, documentation or key witnesses don't want to speak to us, it's likely the case examiners will decide that the concerns in the complaint are not able to be proved.

The team will then write a report containing as much detail as possible about the case for case examiners to look at.

This whole process can take up to 25 weeks.
