How we've agreed to share information and work with different organisations across the UK
We enter into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with an organisation when it's helpful to set out how we'll work together.
These agreements typically cover how we'll work closer together on strategy and to share information on the rare occasions when care goes wrong or falls short of people’s expectations. This allows us to take action that supports better, safer care for people.
For example, if an investigation finds information that suggests a concern about a healthcare setting, we may need to tell a system regulator.
We review these agreements with our partners to make sure they're effective for our work together.

A framework for sharing intelligence with health and care regulators in Scotland
This framework was jointly developed by the SIHCG and professional regulators in Scotland. It provides a clearly defined mechanism for the sharing of information and intelligence that may indicate risks to users of services, their carers, families or professionals. Sharing concerns at the right time can make it easier to notice that a problem is emerging.
The framework formalises and strengthens the existing cooperative arrangements for sharing emerging concerns between the signatory organisations. We will continue to work together to review and evaluate the process to make sure that it works for providers, professionals and people who use services.
Memorandum of Understanding between the Jersey Care Commission and the Nursing and Midwifery Council
The purpose of this Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) is to set out the
framework to support the working relationship between the Jersey Care Commission (the Commission) and the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) to enable them to share relevant information which enhances their ability to exercise their respective functions.
Healthcare Summit meetings take place bi-annually to enable discussion between audit, inspection, regulation and improvement bodies.
They provide an interactive forum for sharing intelligence on the quality and safety of healthcare services provided by NHS Wales.
The purpose of this memorandum of understanding is to set out a framework between the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), and NHS Practitioner Health (NHSPH) / Scottish Workforce Specialist Service (SWSS) to ensure that effective channels of communication are maintained between the NMC and NHSPH/SWSS.
