Logan Van Lessen RN, RM, BSc, MSc
Consultant Midwife (Public Health)
Logan has over 40 years’ experience in the NHS, having qualified as a nurse and midwife. She worked clinically for many years in hospital settings and the community and then took up several management posts including a year’s secondment as deputy Head of Midwifery at Milton Keynes. She completed her Masters in Midwifery in 2007. As matron for inpatient services at Whittington Health, she implemented the partners staying overnight project. This project won the RCM award for Better Births, 2015. She won the Supervisor of the Year for London award in 2014.
Her role as Consultant Midwife in Public Health includes a teaching remit at Middlesex University. Logan works collaboratively on public health issues as well as research and is a member of various steering groups and boards across Islington/Haringey. She is currently the North Central London clinical lead for Better Births for setting up community hubs and is chair of the UK (RCM) consultant midwives forum.
